Ookkkaayy, I saw "Eight Below", and of course I HAD to draw some sled dogs running afterwards. :D Spent tons of hours on this sketch, and I WILL finish. I might start tonight, but I am kindasorta busy. Thought it'd be a good idea to upload some art to curve ya'lls appetite. Critique welcome! That way I can fix any mistakes before I start outlining.

Don't mind the little notes at the bottom (if you can read 'em). Those are just basic infos on the little sled doggies I made up. First one, named Riley, fur color is a earthy red copper. He's the leader and hero-type husky and second oldest. Next is Shay, the spunky vibrant sister of Riley's. She's spotted with the same colors. Next is the oldest, Ace, black championship malamute male dog. He's wiser than the rest. Last but not least is Dahliylah, the strong and sensible akita/husky dog who brings up the rear of the team. She's a purty silver color. :>

Uh...you can't exactly copyright the poses, especially the last two. I've drawn many running canines very similar, but obviously, this was before Eight Below was even ever advertised (even though the movie itself rocked) so I didn't copy or 'steal' yours, though I know what you mean. Still, not much you can do if someone draws their canine character running in the same position.

xD The whole "Copy the pose of any of these dogs and DIE" thing was interesting to me, though; seeing as I eventually plan to upload my art here, and I /know/ I have pictures of canines running in a similar pose with a forepaw lifted, forepaw on the ground and both hind legs in the air and such; so I was all, "Great. Now she'll automatically think I stuck tracing paper over my monitor and tried to jack her art poses simply because she said not to. o_O Luffly." XD

Very nice, though. So far, I don't see anything wrong; seeing as I don't study the more cartoony style you have.

I was considering making my own characters of sled dogs up soon, but I've been thinking of that since...like, I re-watched Balto. XD Soyeah.

What do you think of one of the main characters being a Siberian Husky and Dalmatian mix, though? n_n Personal opinion on the breed mixed, I mean.

That sounds like a wonderful idea! That type of mixed breed would probably be quite pretty! :D

Why are the two front dogs in nearly the same position and the two last dogs in nearly the same position? :O

I honestly kept trying to make them super-different, but they accidentally turned out like this. Was not intentional. I'll prolly fix them later on after I look at some pics of running sled dogs.
